President's Message
Welcome to International Christian Photographers! We are a group of people from all over the country who share a passion for photography and our Lord Jesus Christ. Some of our members are just getting started in the industry and others are nationally known. Some work part time in photography and some have been full time for years.
At our annual conference in the summer, we hear speakers with professional expertise on subjects such as posing and lighting, weddings, portraiture, and the business of photography. Recently our conference was gifted with Suzette Allen presenting an extensive program on Photoshop. In addition, we’re strengthened in our spiritual walk by prayer time and inspirational speakers such as Steve Ervin. The uplifting fellowship we enjoy with other believers is what keeps us strong as we strive to live our Mission Statement: Believers dedicated, through Jesus Christ, to the highest moral standards and business ethics in providing quality photography.
Information about our organization, annual conference, and membership can be found on our Website. I would invite you to join us – we look forward to meeting you at our next conference!
Blessings,
Lynn A. Kochis
President
Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God. (I Cor. 10:31)
Jerry Avey from Boulder, Colorado, founded the International Christian Photographers. It was his desire that photographers would have a place to go that was uplifting, encouraging and be a place to learn in an inviting environment. His desire was that through this organization there would be Christian fellowship and also would become a vehicle to introduce fellow craftsman to Jesus Christ.
The first meetings of this wonderful group took place in Colorado Springs at Glen Eyrie Christian Conference Center. Since then, we have also met in North Carolina and have also "cruised" together on an ocean liner.
The name that Jerry first came up with was The Christian Photographers Conference. The Lord began dealing with him and he realized that he was limiting God. Jerry then thought about the National Christian Photographers, but soon realized that even that name was too limiting. Scripture tells us "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" Philippians 4:13. God spoke to Jerry's heart and impressed upon him that the group should be called the International Christian Photographers, and the rest is history.
